Small Group Etiquette and How To

How will this online Bible study work?

1. Check this blog each day for new posts.
2. Login to Facebook and check our "Closed Group" page. You must join the group to post and read group comments.
3. Your closed group comments do NOT appear in your Facebook timeline and only members of the private Facebook group can see what you have shared.
4. Our group will meet on Sunday afternoons at 7pm. Write this in your calendar and set a weekly reminder alarm.
5. On the day and time we meet, arrive in the Facebook group and be ready to share.
6. Look for a post from me, your group leader and all members will start discussing the Bible study in that thread. Our weekly discussions will last an hour each week.
7. Private message me if you need assistance or are confused by these instructions.

Small Group Etiquette

Our group provides non-denominational Christian fellowship and discussion. A workbook is required to participate in the online Bible study.

INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR: Spam, promoting products, asking for money, fundraising, interrupting or redirecting the conversation, religious debates rooted in legalism, condemnation, offending others, and adding people from the group to another Facebook group without their permission. DO NOT share any information from our private group on your personal Facebook page or with friends. All content is to remain confidential.

COUNSELING: Reminder...we are not counselors. You should only provide "advice" by offering scripture.

Greetings!

Ladies, I have a confession.... I am a complete novice to blogging!!  This is the first blog I have ever attempted. Many thanks to my tech savvy son, Josh for helping get this set up for us. Thanks Josh!

                                        WHY ME LORD?

I have felt the Lord calling me to minister in some way for quite a while now. I have tried unsuccessfully to ignore this call but I know that I will not have peace in my heart until I submit. I have no idea what God has in store for us but I feel his urging to facilitate this online Bible study for my friends (and their friends). There is a reason for everything. God has a plan and it is perfect, so if you are reading this, you are where God wants you to be at this moment.

Our lives are all so incredibly busy, yet we desire to have a close relationship with our Savior. We are expected to be Superheros. Us women wear so many different hats, it's hard to remember which one you have on most of the time. We are wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, teachers, chefs and caregivers to our family. We teach Sunday school, home school, work full time jobs, do LOADS of laundry, shuttle our children to soccer and cheer-leading. We are expected to maintain our homes like a well oiled machine, and WE DO IT ALL!

With all of those demands on us, it is sometimes very difficult to fit in quiet time to study God's word. And we all know that when you skip a day here and a couple more there, it's easy to distance yourself from Jesus. Notice I said, distance yourself because Jesus NEVER leaves. He's always right where you left him, WAITING ON YOU. I hope that by offering this online study where we can participate without having to leave home that more of us will be afforded the opportunity to join in.

So, get comfy! Put on those stretchy pants & tees and
                                            let's dig into the Word!
